Meng, Mulcahy lead Saints nordic ski team at UNH

The St. Lawrence University men's and women's Nordic ski teams competed in the freestyle races on Saturday at the 2014 UNH Carnival at the Jackson Touring Center. Austin Meng picked up his second top-20 finish of the weekend, while Kate Mulcahy led the women's squad.

The Saints men's team finished in 10th place with 47.0 points, led by Meng's 17th place individual showing. The Truckee, CA native raced the men's 20k free in 50:33.1, earning 26.0 points. Rookie Calvin Swomley earned his collegiate-best finish in 34th place, while Kyle Curry capped the scoring in 48th position.

Blaine Ayotte (51st), Will Frielinghaus (55th), Morgan Holland (61st), Phillip Marshall (67th) and Matt Dier (70th) also competed for St. Lawrence.

Mulcahy was the top St. Lawrence finisher in the women's 15k free with a time of 46:26.0, earning 14.0 points for her 40th place showing. Erin Perryman (43rd) and Taren McGray (89th) capped the scoring with the team in 11th place, while Laurel Hurd (91st) rounded out the line-up.

Dartmouth College swept the freestyle races on Saturday, as the Big Green won both team titles and Silas Talbot and Anja Gruber won the men's and women's races, respectively.

The Saints will be in action again next weekend at the 2014 UVM Carnival hosted at the Trapp Family Lodge.
