St. Lawrence University Director or Rowing Nick Hughes has announced that seniors Abbie McIvor and Jenette Kloss will serve as the Saints' captains for the 2013-14 season.
McIvor and Kloss each had success early in their careers, as they won an ECAC Championship in the open fours event. Kloss rowed in the varsity 8+ last season and remains in the team's top boat, while McIvor has progressed into the varsity 8+ this fall.
"By virtue of their commitment, maturity and experience, Jenette and Abbie have demonstrated the sort of leadership this fall that demands the recognition that captaincy affords," said Hughes, the head coach of the women's rowing team. "I trust that they will continue to lead the team with thoughtful enthusiasm, in a direction that will insure collective success for our entire team this spring."
