Mayette slotted the first goal of his rookie season 42 seconds into a 5-on-3 power play. Ben Beasley and Josh Sova earned helpers on the play to get the Roos (6-15-2) within 3-1 at 5:02 of the third period.

The Knights (15-4-3) responded with even-strength goals from Tyson Empey, Arthur Gordon and David Szmyd, as well as a short-handed marker off the stick of Mitch Ferguson for the 7-1 final.

Conlan Keenan recorded a pair of first period goals to put Geneseo up 2-0 and Ferguson scored his fourth goal of the season at 19:23 of the middle period.

Michael Cerasuolo made 28 stops over the first 51:19, while Austin Washkurak stopped four shots over the final 8:31. Devin McDonald turned aside 18 shots in the victory.
