Duncan Maxwell came through with a key five-game win at eight and Will Campo and Ibrahim Khan battled back from first game losses to win as St. Lawrence University's men's squash team beat Williams College 5-4 in the Hoehn Cup third place match on Sunday, recording the best finish in program history in the College Squash Association team nationals.

The Saints, who came through with their first-ever win over Williams, will finish 11th nationally and came within a whisker of a top ten finish with a 5-4 loss to Penn in the Hoehn semifinals. SLU went 2-1 in the national tournament and finished its season with a 12-7 record.Campo and Maxwell each went 3-0 on the weekend for the Saints and lead the team with identical 13-3 season records.

In the Williams match, William Morris beat the Saints' Seth Vir 3-0 at one, but Kyle Ogilvy beat Kevin Chen 3-0 at two and Khan rallied from a first game 11-7 loss to Andrew Maruca to win 11-8, 11-3, 11-9.

Taylor Foehl of Williams beat Chris Fernandez 3-0 at four and Nick Marks turned back Amay Merchant 3-0 at five, but Campo rallied for a 3-1 win after dropping game one to Alexander Greaves-Tunnell 11-6, winning the next three games 11-8, 11-9, 11-9, The Ephs Julian Dobretsky came from one down to beat Sebastian Riedleshiemer 3-1 at seven, but Maxwell outbattled Chris Wilkinson at eight, winning the first two games 11-6, 11-5 before Wilkinson rallied with 11-8 and 12-10 wins to force a fifth game. Maxwell won 11-8 in game five for the key match point. Michael Badali closed it out with a win at nine for the Saints, beating Jared Zuckerman 3-1.
