A late third period goal by junior Jenna Marks followed by an empty-net goal by Kirsten Padalis helped the No. 10 St. Lawrence women's hockey team snap a 4-4 and earn a 6-4 victory in its regular season finale on Saturday afternoon in Hanover, N.H.

After trading goals in the first period, the teams then traded three-goal scoring bursts to knot things at 4-4 midway through the third period. Marks' game-winning tally put the Saints in front for good with just over three minutes remaining in regulation.

"Tonight was a great way to finish off the weekend," Head Coach Chris Wells said. "Both teams were opportunistic offensively tonight. Dartmouth did a great job coming back from our 4-1 lead."

Dartmouth jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead just 20 seconds into the game when Karlee Odland forced a turnover in the Big Green offensive zone. She carried the puck into the slot before snapping off a wrister that beat St. Lawrence senior netminder Carmen MacDonald high on the glove side.

Jenna Marks evened the score when she buried a quick turnaround shot from the left hashmarks. Ellie Williams won a battle along the end wall and threw the puck to the front of the net looking for the Cottage Grove, Wis. native. It was briefly handled by a Dartmouth defender, but she couldn't control to clear the zone and Marks capitalized on the bobble; finding the back of the net for her 13th of the season.

The Saints opened things up in the second period, scoring 3 straight goals to open up a 4-1 lead, before the Big Green answered with a late tally of their own to make it 4-2 heading into the third.

The visitors got a gritty goal from Kayla Raniwsky just over three minutes in to take their first lead of the game and shift the momentum.

Kailee Heidersbach took a shot from the faceoff dot that went wide and hit Raniwsky at the side of the net before bouncing into the crease in front of Dartmouth goaltender Gianna Guarino. Raniwsky jammed away at the loose puck and tucked it under Guarino to give the Saints their first lead of the game.

Less than a minute later, Brooke Webster pushed the Saints lead to 3-1 when she took a great pass from linemate Kennedy Marchment as she cut down the left wing and beat Guarino with a one-timer.

The third St. Lawrence goal chased Guarino out of the net, as she was relieved by Robyn Chemago.

Hannah Miller notched the Saints fourth goal and her second of the weekend with a wrister through traffic from the right hashmarks. Abbey McRae and Jess Hon assisted on the play.

Dartmouth scored with 38 seconds remaining in the middle frame to cut the deficit to two goals when Catherine Berghuis jumped on a loose puck in the right faceoff dot after Padalis lost an edge trying to make an outlet pass to clear the zone. Berghuis ripped a slapshot, beating MacDonald and swinging the momentum back to the Big Green.

The home team came out firing in the third period, needing only 17 seconds to pull within a goal. Kennedy Ottenbreit snuck a turnaround shot from the redline that snuck through MacDonald's pads and inside the far post.

It was Lindsey Allen who tied the game for Dartmouth at the 8:20 mark when she pounced on the rebound from a Laura Stacey shot at the edge of the crease. MacDonald made a big pad save on a Stacey slapshot, but the puck kicked right onto Allen's stick.

For her game-winning goal, Marks banked a shot off of Chemago's blocker which she had against the ice on the near post to prevent a wraparound. The puck skipped high and rolled down Chemango's back and in for her 14th of the season and second of the night.

The Big Green pulled Chemago coming out of a timeout with 1:49 remaining and shortly after Marchment carried the puck into the Dartmouth zone and dropped a pass back to Padalis who skated in on the lone Dartmouth defender before firing it home to ice the game.

"It was a good way for us to win another close game in a big game," Wells added. "Both teams had some fantastic chances in a wide open third period and we were fortunate to capitalize late in the game."

MacDonald finished with 24 stops of the Saints, while Guarino and Chemago combined for 32 saves.

The Saints finish the regular season at 19-10-5 and 13-5-5 in the league, tying them with Cornell for fourth place in the ECAC Standings. The Big Red hold the tiebreak over St. Lawrence with a win and a tie in the regular season, so the Scarlet and Brown will play as the five seed in the upcoming playoffs and travel to Ithaca for a best-of-three series next weekend.
