Hudson Falls, NY – Senior Mike Mailhot (Massena, NY) was the Clarkson University Golf team’s most consistent performer all weekend at the Liberty League Qualifier, shooting a 78 and a 77 on back-to-back days to lead the Golden Knights at the par-71 Kingswood Golf Course.
The Golden Knights finished sixth among the seven teams in a tightly bunched group of teams. Skidmore and Rensselaer finished tied for first at 588 strokes, with the Thoroughbreds winning a tie-breaker, and were followed by Rochester (603), St. Lawrence (611), New York University (616), Clarkson (620), and Hobart (641).
Mailhot finished in a tie for 21st among 49 golfers with a score of 155. Freshmen Matt Blair (South Glens Falls, NY) and Evan Cody (Malta, NY) as well as sophomore Tyler Cline (Tuxedo, NY) shot 156 total to place 23rd. Blair and Cline each shot 75 of one day and 81 on the other while Cody went 79-77. Tying for 33rd was Scott Henning (Vienna, VA) with a 159 (81-78) and Mike Sundstrom (New Haven, VT) took 48th with a 176 (90-86).
