Potsdam, NY – Ashley Loggins hit buzzer beating 3-pointers in each of the first three quarters on Tuesday night as the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team rallied for a 73-56 victory over Hamilton College in non-league action at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights won their eighth straight game to improve to 13-4 overall, while Hamilton dropped to 6-12 on the season. Clarkson returns to league action on the road this weekend.

Clarkson scored eight of the first 10 points of the game four minutes into the contest, but responded with a 9-0 run and never trailed again in the half. The Knights would come back to tie the score twice, and pulled to within one at the end of the first quarter when Ashley Loggins had a 3-pointer rattle in. The second quarter appeared to be all Hamilton as the Continentals pushed out to a seven-point lead midway through the period (29-22) and later extended their advantage to eight (35-27) with less than two minutes to go. However, Loggins hit a 3-pointer at the 1:14 mark and then banked another long distance shot in as time expired to pull Clarkson to within two at the break.

Hamilton rode Sam Graber to 16 points in the first half, as she made seven of her first 10 shots, and the guard also chipped in seven rebounds and three assists in the first 20 minutes. Carly Gruenberg also added nine points for Hamilton as the Continentals shot 16-for-29 in the first half. Loggins led the Knights with 11 points and five rebounds despite committing two fouls in the first quarter, while Devin Sorell also tossed in nine points. Clarkson shot just 12-for-30 overall, but shot 75.0% from the 3-point line, creating an odd split (6-for-8 from the 3-point line, 6-for-22 inside the arc).

Unfettered by foul trouble in the second half, Loggins made seven steals in the final 20 minutes as Clarkson was able to turn on the defense and create easier opportunities at the other end. It didn't take long for the Knights to gain the lead in the second half, pushing the advantage to seven points when Loggins banked in yet another 3-pointer from the top of the key as time expired in the third quarter. That kind of shooting wasn't necessary in the final moments of the fourth quarter, yet Loggins poured in 12 more points in the final 10 minutes as the Knights eased their way to a double-digit victory.

Loggins scored a career-high 35 points, just four shy of the school's single-game mark, going 12-for-23 from the field and 6-for-8 from the 3-point line. She also added in 12 rebounds and eight steals in the game. All told, Loggins produced nine points in the final five seconds of the first three quarters combined. Devin Sorell also tossed in 18 points with five 3-pointers herself. For Hamilton, Sam Graber went 9-for-18 from the field for a team-high 20 points, chipping in nine boards, four assists and two steals. Caroline Barrett came off the bench to score nine points, making four of her five shots from the floor.
