New York, NY - Senior Felix Llanos (Queens, NY) recovered from his worst shooting performance of the season on Monday by torching Regis College for 26 points as the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team finished off the NYU Holiday Classic with a 70-65 victory over the Pride Tuesday evening.

The Golden Knights closed out the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 7-2 record and will open Liberty League play at St. Lawrence next Tuesday. Regis College fell to 3-7 on the year.

Regis scored the opening basket of the game, but it would be the last time that the Pride would hold a lead in the contest as Clarkson ran off eight straight points over a two-minute time frame, The Pride would come back to tie the game 16-16 midway through the first half, but once again the Knights would assert themselves offensively, going on a 13-6 run, capped by a Marques Charlton (Deer Park, NY) 3-pointer as time expired, over the final five minutes of the period to take a 36-26 lead into the locker room.

Clarkson would extend its lead to 12 points on two occasions in the second half and held a 10-point advantage with less than four minutes to go. However, up nine with 2:53 remaining, Clarkson's next four possessions involved a pair of misses and two turnovers as Regis was able to climb back to within four points. The Knights were able to make their free throws down the stretch to hold off the comeback as Tyler Barron (Burlington, VT) made a free throw in the final seconds to end any chance of a Pride miracle.

Llanos, who was held to a season-low seven points against NYU on Monday, found a groove against Regis on Tuesday, scoring 26 points on 9-for-18 shooting, including five more 3-point field goals. Charlton added in a solid all-around game with 17 points, going 5-for-9 from the floor with three 3-pointers in four attempts, eight rebounds and four assists. John Coleman (Potsdam, NY) contributed 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting, and packed the stat sheet with four rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.

Ryan Chambers led the Pride with 15 points, but shot just 4-for-17 from the floor. Osanto Marc and Robert Edwards tossed in 14 points for Regis, with Edwards going 7-for-7 from the field with eight rebounds. Jonathon Josselin also scored 13 for Regis.
