Senior Mark Syron laced a walk-off double down the left field line in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Mic Regan and help the Saints to a 3-2 win over Bard in the first game of a Liberty League doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. Michael LeFevre was 5-for-5 with four runs scored and Adam Reichel had six RBI in a 15-7 come-from-behind win for the Saints in game two. St. Lawrence is now 8-1 overall on the season and 4-0 in conference games.

The teams' traded a run an inning in both the first and second innings of the first game and were tied at 2-2 until the bottom of the seventh.

Regan hit a two out single to center field to put the game-winning run on base for Syron. His game-winning double was his second extra-base hit of the day and sixth RBI for the weekend.

Fellow senior Andrew Schreyack earned a complete-game victory on the mound for St. Lawrence, allowing just three hits and two earned runs while striking out five.

In the second and final game of the four-game series, the Saints wasted little time putting runs on the board; scoring five in the bottom half of the first inning with the help of six consecutive singles. Mic Regan, Devin Robson, Kyle MacDonald, Michael LeFevre and Kyle Liszewski each came across to score to give the Scarlet and Brown a 5-0 lead.

But Bard answered with seven runs in the top of the second with the help of four walks and four hits including a three-RBI triple by Adam Carafotes to take a 7-5 lead and chased starting pitcher Jake Farrell out of the game after just one and two-thirds innings. Ben Jenkins came on in relief and three seven and one-third innings, allowing no runs and three hits with one strikeout to get the win.

St. Lawrence had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the third, but managed only one run when MacDonald scored on a passed ball.

After a scoreless fourth, MacDonald led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a walk and LeFevre followed with a single to left. Liszewski moved both runners into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt back to the mound before Adam Reichel helped the Saints regain the lead, 8-7, with a two-RBI double to left center.

They added two more in the bottom of the seventh on three straight singles by LeFevre, Liszewski and Lewis and a sac fly to center by Reichel and added five more runs in the eighth to increase the lead to 15-7.

Syron started off the eighth with a triple to right center and came around to score on the next at bat by Devin Robson; as he singled to center. LeFevre's fifth hit of the day, a single to left, put runners on first and second for Liszewski who doubled down the left field line to plate Robson and increase his team's lead to 12-7.

A two-out, two-RBI single by Reichel made it 14-7 and an RBI single by senior Chris Fernandez – his first hit of the game – scored Reichel for the Saints final run.

St. Lawrence finished with 20 hits in game two and had six players record multi-hit games.

The Saints will continue their Liberty League schedule with a four-game set in Rochester against RIT on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.
