Morrisville, NY – Joelle Percy (Black River, NY) drained a three off a pass from Alicia Uhlein (Watertown, NY) in the closing seconds of regulation but SUNY Canton fell, 58-45, to host Morrisville State in overtime.

Head Coach Bruce Tallon called time out with 17 seconds left to play as the Roos trailed 42-39. Coach Tallon drew up a play and Uhlein found Percy for her third three of the night to send the game into extra minutes.

Morrisville (5-13) scored the first 10 points of overtime and outscored SUNY Canton 16-3 overall in the extra session as the only Roo basket came off a trey from Percy.

The Roos (5-14) largest lead of the game came early on at 5-0 as they scored the game's first five points. In what was a back-and-forth first half it was the host Mustangs who took an 18-15 lead into intermission.

Morrisville led by as many as six points early in the second half but neither team led by more than three in the final 8:21 of regulation. The Mustangs biggest edge on the scoreboard came at 13 with 28 seconds left in OT.

Brianna Sayer (Hermon, NY) led the Roos with 17 points to go with six rebounds, while Percy added 16 points and eight boards. Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY) netted nine points and a career and game-high 21 rebounds.

SUNY Canton held edges in rebounds (53-33), second chance points (15-2) and points in the paint (24-18). The Roos struggled taking care of the ball turning it over 29 times, compared to just 16 for Morrisville.

Jordan Anderson led all players with 21 points and seven assists for the Mustangs. Jennel Paul added 17 points as the only other Morrisville player to score more than five points.

The women's basketball team is back in action Saturday when it hosts Alfred State College at 2:00 p.m. at the Roos House.
