Potsdam, NY - Three-pointers from Charles McAllister and Drew Zlogar in the final two-plus minutes came at key times for the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team as the Golden Knights rallied from a modest deficit to defeat St. Lawrence 68-62 Wednesday night at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights improved to 19-5 overall and 12-3 in the Liberty League, tying for the most wins in program history (2001-02), and have just Skidmore remaining on the schedule to decide their playoff seeding in the upcoming conference tournament. St. Lawrence is still alive for a playoff spot at 13-11 overall and 7-8 in conference games, as RIT and the Saints are each tied for the fourth spot in the conference.

The two teams opened the game up with decent offense, but neither could get much of a foothold. It wasn't until Conrad Zampier hit a pair of free throws to spark an 11-2 run, capped off by a Mike Hayduk 3-pointer from the corner, that the Golden Knights edged out to a 32-20 lead with eight minutes to go in the first half. However, from that point, the Clarkson offense went cold, scoring just six more points over the stretch, clinging to a nine-point lead (38-29) at the break. In the second half, St. Lawrence chipped away with a strong shooting performance from Willie Zachery, and a Kyle Edwards jumper at the 9:40 mark helped the Saints gain a 49-47 lead. From that point the teams traded baskets/points, and a Zachery jumper gave the Saints a four-point lead (57-53) with 5:20 to go. Clarkson took its time and knotted the game up at 57-57 and then Charles McAllister buried a 3-pointer from the corner to give the Knights the lead at 2:21. Just 47 seconds later, Drew Zlogar nailed a 3-pointer from the top of the key to give Clarkson a 63-59 edge and the Knights were able to make their free throws down the stretch to claim a six-point win.

John Coleman finished with 21 points, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 7-for-8 from the free throw line, while Felix Abongo added in 14 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Zlogar came off the bench to score 13 points, going 6-for-8 from the floor, and McAllister finished with seven assists and six rebounds.

For St. Lawrence, Brady Condlin had 21 points and eight rebounds while Willie Zachery scored 15 points.
