An RIT goal in the 74th minute spoiled the Clarkson University Soccer team’s bid for an upset on the road in Liberty League play as the Tigers pulled out a 1-0 win Saturday afternoon on their home field in Rochester.

The Golden Knights, who stand at 4-7-1 overall and 2-2 in the conference, open a two-game home stand next weekend at Hantz Turf Field when they host Liberty League rivals Rensselaer and Union.

After a fairly even first half, RIT (6-3-2, 3-0-1) took control in the second half generating several good scoring chances. The Tigers finally broke through at 73:57 when Dave Boselli connected on a hard low shot through traffic that found the lower right corner for the game’s only goal.

Corner kicks were just about even with RIT holding a slight 5-4 edge, but the Tigers dominated on shots at 18-4.

Junior Saverino Spagnolo (Ottawa, ONT) made eight saves for the Knights.
