Randolph Center, VT – Tatiana Laroche (Elmont, NY) posted game-highs of 23 points and 13 rebounds as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team cruised to a 72-33 victory against host Vermont Technical College on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights (2-9) led 6-2 early but SUNY Canton (2-7) responded with a 17-0 run to take control of the contest as they led 29-8 after the opening quarter. The Roos extended their lead to as many as 32 as they took a 47-17 lead into intermission.

SUNY Canton kept the foot on the gas pedal in the second half as 11 different players saw action en route to the convincing victory.

Laroche paced the Roos with her third double-double of the season on 23 points and a season-best 13 boards on 11-for-16 shooting. Caseylynn Fulton (Saint Cloud, MN) recorded 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting, while Taylor Saltus (Clintonville, NY), Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, NY) and Brianna Sayer (Hermon, NY) added seven points apiece.

The Roos shot 45 percent from the field, while Vermont Tech hit on just 27 percent of their field goals. SUNY Canton held a huge 45-21 edge in rebounding including an 18-5 advantage on the offensive glass which resulted in an 18-0 edge in second chance points. The Roos got a huge lift off the bench outscoring their counterparts 24-0.

The women's basketball team will travel back to Randolph, VT on Tuesday for the Vermont Tech Tournament where they will square off with Fisher College at 4 p.m.
