Albany, NY – Sophomore keeper Austin Lamay (Malone, NY) stopped eight shots on the day but the SUNY Canton men's soccer team was held scoreless dropping a 2-0 decision to host Sage Colleges on Friday afternoon on the campus of the Albany College of Pharmacy.

The Gators (2-1-1) came out strong early on and converted in the seventh minute when River Seybolt chipped a shot over Lamay after receiving a centering pass from Peter Fabrykiewicz.

The Roos (0-4) first scoring chance of the game came from the foot of Jules Ngadula (Manlius, NY) as he barely missed wide left in the 12th minute.

Sage added an insurance marker in the 35th minute that came off a set piece. James Lagunas buried a direct kick in the bottom left corner to give the Gators a 2-0 advantage heading into intermission.

SUNY Canton's best scoring opportunity of the day came in the 53rd minute off of a corner kick. Freshman Angelo Vecchio (Baldwinsville, NY) had a shot ring off the post. Neither team would find the back of the net for the duration of the contest leading to Sage's 2-1 victory.

TJ Zehner turned aside three shot attempts for the Gators, while Lamay made eight saves for the Roos.
