Senior co-captain Alex Laird scored the game-winning goal with :21 left to lift the #17 St. Lawrence University men's soccer team to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over RIT on Saturday afternoon. RIT had a 2-0 lead with 6:45 to play in regulation, but the Saints scored three unanswered goals in that span to earn the win.

St. Lawrence, now 12-2-1 (4-2-1), can clinch a spot in the Liberty League playoffs with a victory against Clarkson on Oct. 27th. Meanwhile, RIT moves to 8-6-1 (3-3-1) and will host Hobart next Saturday in a game that could decide its playoff fate.

Down 2-0 late in the game, St. Lawrence's offensive pressure finally broke through in the 84th minute when senior Brian Gilloran scored from a sharp angle deep inside the RIT box to cut the Tigers' lead to 3-1. He fired a shot that deflected off of RIT's goalkeeper Sean Conway and into the net for his seventh goal of the season. Less than two minutes later, the Saints tied the score with an own goal by the Tigers off a defensive miscue inside their own box.

Laird's goal with :21 to play in regulation capped off the run by the Saints. He scored off an assist from first-year student Ryan Grant, who broke in with Laird 2v1 on a counter attack.

St. Lawrence held advantages in shots (13-8) and corner kicks (13-8). Sophomore Aaron Costello came in relief for senior Nate Goss-Woliner and picked up the win for the Saints. Meanwhile, Conway took the loss for RIT, allowing three goals and making two saves.
