(North Adams, Mass.)- The SUNY Canton women’s basketball team lost to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 61-41 Saturday afternoon in North Adams, Mass.
Junior Alicia Uhlein (Watertown, N.Y.) led the Roos, who moved to 4-4 and are ranked 14th in the USCAA Division I Coaches Poll, with 11 points, two rebounds and two assists. Senior Kaitlin Myers (Dannemora, N.Y.) added a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with four points and two blocks. Freshman Karyss Terrance (Hogansburg, N.Y.) scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds and junior Joelle Percy (Black River, N.Y.) knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and finished with eight points and six rebounds.
The Roos trailed by three points at halftime, 20-17, and then MCLA opened up a double-digit lead midway through the second half. SUNY Canton trimmed the lead down to eight points, 46-38, but the Trailblazers countered with a 15-0 run to put the game out of reach.
Lucy Tremblay led three MCLA players in double figures with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists. Kait Chenevert had 12 points and Johanna Miner had 10.
The Roos continue their Massachusetts swing on Sunday when they play at Fisher College at 12 noon.
