Senior Carey Turner (Clifton Park, NY) and Brooke Butkovsky (Monroe, CT) each had standout seasons for the Clarkson University Women’s Basketball team this season, and on Thursday the duo was rewarded with end of the season selections from the Liberty League.
Turner was chosen as a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star, while Butkovsky gained notice as one of the conference’s top newcomers by earning Liberty League All-Rookie Team status.
Turner averaged 10.4 points per game through 23 contests to rank 11th in the conference in scoring. She also distributed the ball well during the season, leading Clarkson in assists with 2.9 per game, which was eighth in the Liberty League. Additionally, Turner was 14th in the conference in steals with 1.6 per game.
Butkovsky ranked second among all freshmen in scoring with 9.3 ppg, trailing only teammate Raeanne Clabeaux. She also led the conference in field goal percentage (55.5%) and placed fourth overall in the league in rebounding (7.2 rpg). Defensively, Butkovsky averaged 0.9 blocks per game while chipping in 1.2 steals per contest.
