Since the last awards were given in late-December, freshman Ashley Loggins (Albany, NY) of the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team has averaged better than 20 points per game, and her performance over that span was rewarded on Monday as she was selected the Liberty League Rookie of the Week.

Since the conclusion of the winter break, Loggins has scored 82 points and grabbed 55 rebounds, producing four double-doubles in four games. Her top performance came on Saturday when she tallied 26 points and 18 rebounds.

Loggins currently ranks fourth in the Liberty League in scoring (17.7 ppg), second in rebounding (11.1 rpg) and sixth in steals (2.3 spg). Although the sample size is small, she leads the conference in scoring (25.5 ppg), rebounding (16.0 rpg) and steals (4.0 spg) in league contests.

The freshman forward is currently on pace to set several new standards among newcomers at Clarkson. Through 10 games, Loggins has 177 points and the freshman record for points in a season is 297, set in the 1991-92 season by Stephanie Sealer. She also has 111 rebounds, which is 78 short of the 189 by Sarah Wesner in the 2003-04 campaign.
