Kyle Edwards scored a team-high 22 points and four additional players scored in double-digits as the St. Lawrence University Men's Basketball team posted a key 87-82 victory over RIT Saturday afternoon in a Liberty League matchup at Burkman Gymnasium in Canton.

Edwards finished with 22 points for the Saints (7-6 overall, 3-2 Liberty League) – just a point shy of his career-high effort while Ben Crawford added 18 points, Willie Zachery and Riley Naclerio chipped in 13 each and Kyle Kobis added 12 points, six rebounds and six assists for St. Lawrence.

St. Lawrence took its first lead of the game with 6:11 left to play on a pair of Kobis free throws as the Saints held a slim 63-61 advantage.

RIT (7-7, 3-2) regained the lead a minute later but Kieran Miller drained a 3-pointer to give the Saints the lead for good at 66-65 with 4:45 left to play.

Kobis, Chris Miner and Edwards added consecutive lay ups as the Saints stretched the lead to seven points with 3:31 on the clock.

The Tigers came back again to get within two points at 79-77 with 48 seconds left but Edwards drained a big 3-pointer from the right side and added a pair of free throws to go up five points before Naclerio hit two more free throws to make it a seven-point advantage at 86-79 with 12 seconds left.

After a late 3-pointer by the Tigers, Zachery iced the victory with a free throw as the Saints posted the 87-82 victory.

St. Lawrence shot 50 percent from the field (31-for-62) and connected on 80% of its free throws (16-for-20) while forcing 15 turnovers on the defensive end.

The Saints are off until a weekend trip to the Capital District with games at 8 pm Friday at RPI and at 4 pm Saturday at Union.
