Cazenovia, NY – Kody Kocsis made 22 saves but the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team dropped a 13-9 road decision to host Cazenovia College on Wednesday afternoon.
Josh Yelvington tied a game-high with four goals while adding an assist and Trenton Yule finished with two goals and one assist. Kyle Smith tallied a goal and assist, while Dante Coco and Cam Carter provided the other scores for the Roos (2-5).
Eric Hanover and Brandon Maxon paced the Wildcats (4-1) with four goals and one assist each.
The teams played to a 2-2 tie after the first quarter and Canton opened a 3-2 lead after a Yelvington man-up goal with 1:19 left in the first half. Cazenovia outscored the Roos 5-2 in the third quarter and 9-4 after intermission to earn the victory.
Kocsis made 22 saves for the Roos, while Logan Blount and Alex Delevan combined to make six stops for the hosts.
The men's lacrosse team has a quick turnaround as it visits Wells College on Thursday at 4 p.m.
