Senior midfielder Alix Petitti (Amsterdam, NY) became the sixth player in Clarkson University Women's Soccer history to earn Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, gaining the newly created District 3 First-Team nod on Friday.
Petitti, a Liberty League Second-Team All-Star in 2011 and now a three-time Liberty League All-Star during her career at Clarkson, has a 3.89 grade-point average in chemical engineering. She ranked second in scoring for the Knights with three goals this past season and scored eight goals and an assist for 17 points in her career.
Petitti joins five other Clarkson women's soccer players to have gained Academic All-American honors. Megan Bicknell was a District 1 Third-Team member in 2009, Christie Knapp earned District 1 Third-Team honors in 2008, Jennifer Bashant was a District 1 Second-Team member in 2000 and 1998, Kim Bouchard was a District 1 Second-Team award winnerin 1996, and Shannon McCann gained District 1 First-Team honors in 1995.
