Two first half goals within two minutes of each other doomed the Clarkson Women's Soccer team as they lost to Nazareth 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, Clarkson's record drops to 2-4-0 while Nazareth improves their own record to 5-1-0.

After out shooting their opponents in the last three games, Clarkson saw the tables turned in the first half as Nazereth had the majority of the offensive chances. Thirty minutes into the game, the Golden Flyers would take the lead when Christine Belding collected a pass from Courtney Malia and scored her first goal of the year. Less than two minutes later, Tori Ryan scored a solo goal to double the Nazareth lead.

Nazereth would continue to test the Clarkson defense as the second half started. The pressure would pay off just over 15 minutes into the half when Paige Sullivan scored the third Golden Flyers goal.

Clarkson would score a goal of their own, with six minutes left in the game. After Caitlin Swanson (Red Hook, N.Y.) had her shot blocked, Nikki Carfi (Liverpool, N.Y.) shot the rebound into the back of the net for the final score of the game.

Overall, Nazareth held a 17-7 advantage in shots and a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks. Mackenzie Dunphy had two saves for the victors while Kim Kenline (Akron, N.Y.) made seven saves in the Clarkson net.

Clarkson will return to action on Wednesday when they host Green Mountain State for a 5:00 pm game on Hantz Turf Field.
