Junior Christine Wright of the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team received another all-star honor this week, gaining 2015 IWLCA Division III All-Region honors for the first time in her career.
Wright, a junior midfielder, was picked as an Empire Region Second-Team All-Star, one of only nine players in the Liberty League to gain regional honors from the IWLCA. She led the conference in scoring at 4.69 points per game with 75 points in 16 games, including 39 goals and 36 assists. She ranked in the top 10 in the conference in both goals per game (2.44, sixth) and assists per game (2.25, third) and was the only player in the league to record at least 30 goals and assists in the conference. Her 75 points tied the single-season mark at Clarkson, first achieved just two years ago by Alyssa Cristaldi. Wright also became Clarkson's first-ever junior to eclipse the 200-point mark for her career. Wright finished third on the team in both groundballs (24) and draw controls (25). Her 36 assists in 2015 added 50 percent to the previous school mark (24).
