Four points from junior Christine Wright (Watertown, NY) were not enough as the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team fell to visiting Skidmore 10-8 on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

Clarkson falls to 7-5 on the season and is 2-3 in Liberty League games while Skidmore is 9-3 and is 4-1 in conference action.

In the first ten minutes of the game, Clarkson dominated the action. Wright opened the scoring at 28:08 and freshman Taylor Collins (Syracuse, NY) scored at 26:31 to double the Clarkson lead. After a Skidmore goal, Collins and Wright again tallied back to back goals to open up a 4-1 lead. Skidmore scored their second goal at 17:44, but senior Danielle Faivus (Oswego, NY) answered with a goal at 11:47. The Thoroughbreds scored the next two goals to make the score 5-4. Clarkson's next goal would come from sophomore Paige Fayette (Theresa, NY) at 5:44. The goal represented the 100th career point for Fayette. Skidmore would score the final goal of the half to make the score 6-5 in favor of Clarkson at the end of the half.

Skidmore grabbed the first goal of the second half to tie the game at six. Sophomore Ashley Flick (Watertown, NY) scored at 21:42 to regain the lead, but it would be the last time the Golden Knights were ahead. Skidmore scored the next four goals to take a 10-7 lead. Wright picked up her third goal at 2:50 to draw Clarkson within two, but Skidmore held on to close out the 10-8 victory.

Wright had four points on three goals and an assist. Junior goalkeeper Danielle Tani (Heuvelton, NY) made six saves for the Green and Gold. Fayette and senior Mollie Simmons (Clinton, CT) both picked up two ground balls. Skidmore had an advantage in shots at 24-20 and in ground balls at 15-9.

Clarkson will look to get back on track next weekend when they host William Smith College on Friday and Union College on Saturday.
