With a tie and a win against two ranked opponents last weekend, the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team sits in first place in ECAC Hockey play. The Golden Knights will hit the road this weekend for games against the two teams that sit just below them in second place. Clarkson plays undefeated and fourth-ranked Quinnipiac at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, CT on Friday at 7:00 p.m., followed by a 4:00 p.m. contest against a one-loss Princeton squad at Hobey Baker Rink in New Jersey on Saturday.

Guided by seventh-year head coach Matt Desrosiers and first-year assistant coaches Meghan Duggan and Britni Smith, the Golden Knights stand at 9-3-1 overall with a 4-0-1 ECAC Hockey record and are ranked fifth in the national polls. After tying fourth-ranked Harvard 2-2 on Friday night, the Green and Gold were able to notch their first win this season over a ranked opponent when they shut out tenth-ranked Dartmouth 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Junior captain Shannon MacAulay (Mt.Herbert, PEI) had a total of four points in the two games last weekend, including two goals and an assist in the win over Dartmouth. She leads the team in points with 22, goals with 11, and assists with 11 helpers. She currently has a streak of seven consecutive games with at least a point.

Since returning from injury against Brown, junior assistant captain Renata Fast (Burlington, ONT) has tallied a goal and three assists, with at least a point in all four games she has played. Her first goal of the season tied up the game against Harvard and she had an assist on the game-winning goal against Dartmouth.

Freshman goaltender Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) was named ECAC Goaltender of the Week for the third time this season. She backstopped Clarkson to a three-point weekend against a pair of top-10 teams, allowing only two goals. On Friday she recorded 21 saves against Harvard and followed it up Saturday afternoon posting her fourth shutout with 24 stops in the win over Dartmouth. Tiley has started every game during the Golden Knights' current seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1).

Freshman defenseman Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove, IL) picked up an assist against Harvard to give her six this season. She is tied for ninth nationally in points per game for a rookie and is sixth in points per game for a defenseman and in ECAC Hockey play, is ranked second and first in the same categories.

Junior Cayley Mercer (Exeter, ONT) and sophomore Genevieve Bannon (Candiac, QUE) are tied for second on the team with 17 points apiece and both added to their totals last weekend. Mercer had the game-winning goal against Dartmouth which snapped her streak of three consecutive games without a point, while Bannon had an assist in the win over Dartmouth.

Junior assistant captain Olivia Howe (Moose Jaw, SASK) had a goal and an assist against Harvard. Her goal cut the Crimson lead in half and then assisted on Renata Fast's game-tying goal.

Freshman Amanda Titus (Stittsville, ONT) picked up her first collegiate assist in the 2-2 tie against Harvard.

The Golden Knights have not lost in their last 21 ECAC Hockey regular season games, winning 17 games and tying four during the streak.

Clarkson currently has the fifth-ranked scoring offense in the nation with 3.54 goals per game and is tied for second in man-advantage offense, scoring on 31.6% (12-38) of its power plays.

Quinnipiac comes into the game with a 9-0-1 overall record and is a perfect 4-0-0 in ECAC Hockey play. They are ranked fourth nationally which is the highest ranking in program history. They are coming off a perfect weekend that included home victories over Rensselaer (6-1) and Union (5-0).
