Posted

Freshman Brooke Butkovsky (Monroe, CT) shot 67 percent from the floor over the course of three games for the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team last week, and was honored on Monday as the Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Butkovsky went 16-for-24 from the field, coming off the bench in two of the three league contests, to average 12.3 points per game. Against St. Lawrence, she scored 14 points and had eight rebounds, and versus RIT she tossed in 13 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals. Though in foul trouble against William Smith, Butkovsky still managed to score 10 points in just 22 minutes.

For the season, Butkovsky is averaging 9.7 points per game, the highest figure for any first-year player in the conference. She is also chipping in 7.3 rebounds, which ranks sixth in the league, and leads the conference in field goal percentage at 56.6%. Prior to this past weekend's games, Butkovsky didn't qualify for the leaderboards in the Liberty League, having missed the first few games to injury.
