Rochester, NY – Playing in overtime for the second time in as many days, the Clarkson University Women’s Soccer team suffered its first loss of the season as St. John Fisher scored late in the first extra period to give the Cardinals a 1-0 victory on Sunday.
The Golden Knights saw their five-game unbeaten streak come to an end, falling to 4-1-1 on the season, while St. John Fisher improved to 3-1-2.
Clarkson was outshot 18-9 in regulation and before the Cardinals converted on the second shot of the first overtime. Alex Rohloff scored her sixth goal in as many games for St. John Fisher when she took a shot from outside the box that went over the head of Clarkson keeper Kim Kenline (Akron, NY) at 97:26.
The Knights were on the short end of a 20-10 deficit in shots and also trailed in corner kick chances 4-1. Kenline made eight saves for Clarkson and Sydney DeVitto made two stops for the Cardinals.
