Potsdam, NY – Junior Adrienne Walker (Centennial, CO) struck for 11 kills with no errors in just 14 attempts to help lead a strong offensive effort from the Clarkson University Volleyball team in a three-set sweep of St. Lawrence, 25-13, 25-21, 25-7, in Liberty League action Tuesday evening at Alumni Gymnasium.

The Golden Knights, currently just one spot outside the top 25 in the latest AVCA poll, won their seventh straight match to improve to 24-6 overall and 9-0 in the Liberty League, while St. Lawrence dropped to 17-8 and 6-3 in league contests.

The Golden Knights held as much as a seven-point advantage in the first set before St. Lawrence forced Clarkson to take a timeout at 16-13. However, the Knights were re-energized and scored the final nine points of the set. The second set went back and forth in the early going with numerous ties before St. Lawrence gained a three-point advantage. Trailing by three (17-14), Clarkson rattled off six straight points and never looked back to gain a 2-0 advantage.

"The great thing about this team is that we have such a diverse offense and so many ways to adjust our rotation," head coach Johan Dulfer remarked. "Not every part of our game was on to start the match, but we passed well and we served even better and that allowed us to work ourselves in to the match and be our best at the end."

The Knights saved their best for last in the final set, never leaving any doubt by taking a 10-2 lead early and cruising the rest of the way, holding the Saints to their fewest points against Clarkson (7) in any set during the rally-scoring era dating back to 2001.

The Knights hit .309 for the match as Walker (.786 hitting percentage) and Xiao Liang (.529) were dominant in the middle and on slides. Walker had 11 kills and Liang had 10 with just a single miscue in 17 swings. Sophomore Victoria Kirkemo (Englewood, CO) was dangerous from the outside and from the back row, adding in 10 kills and 12 digs. Classmate Kirstie Shurie (LaCanada, CA) tied with Kirkemo for the team lead with 12 digs while Erika Chin (Katy, TX) produced nine digs and tied Walker with a team-best three service aces. Senior setter Lani Durio (Austin, TX) guided the offense with 37 assists, better than 12 per set.
