Saratoga Springs, NY – This weekend promised to be a test for the Clarkson University Volleyball team as all four opponents were in line for playoff spots, but the Golden Knights were able to finish off the Liberty League slate in flawless fashion with two more sweeps of St. Lawrence and Skidmore on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights, rated 16th in the country in the latest AVCA poll, improved to 29-3 overall and 12-0 in the Liberty League, their 27th and 28th straight wins in conference action dating back to 2012. Clarkson ousted St. Lawrence in three straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) and then finished off the day with a sweep of Skidmore (25-21, 25-11, 25-16).

"As odd as it may sound after two sweeps today, we were missing a little bit of the edge that we had yesterday," said head coach Johan Dulfer. "The Liberty League is a league full of creative and passionate teams and coaches and you can't ever afford to take a day off. Although we struggled a little bit with our focus today, we can't forget to be incredibly proud of claiming another championship and learning a lot about ourselves once again. We realize all too well that this is just the start and we'll be working hard to be ready for what's to come down the road."

Junior Kirstie Shurie (LaCanada, CA) enjoyed another solid day running the Clarkson offense, producing 36 assists and seven digs against St. Lawrence. Victoria Kirkemo (Englewood, CO) and Aishvina Arasu (Brea, CA) combined for 22 kills and just six errors in 49 swings and Adrienne Walker (Centennial, CO) led the way with a .615 hitting percentage (8-0-15). Both Kirkemo and Walker each tossed in two aces as well, and Evanne Jimenez (Ventura, CA) scored eight digs.

For St. Lawrence, Lexi Brown hit .400 with 12 kills and Katie Kull had 26 assists and 10 digs. Cristina Deschaine also had five kills and five total blocks, including four solo efforts.

Against Skidmore, Shurie pushed the Knights to a .409 hitting percentage, with Walker and Danielle Farabee (Katy, TX) leading the middle hitters' effort with 16 combined kills and no errors on 23 attempts. Arasu had 32 swings in the match and scored 18 kills and Kirkemo hit .556 (12-2-18). Shurie came one dig short of a double-double with 41 assists and nine digs and Jimenez added in 14 digs and five assists. Kirkemo also kicked in eight digs and five aces, while Arasu had four blocks and three aces.

For Skidmore, Aria Goodman recorded a .400 hitting percentage on 11 kills with one error in 25 swings and Kalle Fox had 15 assists and eight digs.
