Ithaca, NY – Junior Rachel Reusch scored 14 kills and added three blocks for the Clarkson University Volleyball team, but it wasn't enough against 16th-ranked Ithaca, as the Golden Knights dropped a four-set decision to their Liberty League foe 25-21, 12-25, 25-12, 25-21.

The Golden Knights moved to 7-6 on the season while Ithaca pushed its mark to 7-5. Clarkson will travel for a non-league match up against Oswego State on Wednesday evening.

In the first set, Clarkson enjoyed a small lead in the early going (7-5), but Ithaca scored eight of the next nine points to take a 13-8 lead thanks to two aces from Hailey Adler and three kills from Alison Lipton. A kill from Savannah Peters brought Clarkson back within one a few moments later (16-15), but Lipton tallied two more kills and Reagan Stone added one more down the stretch to hold off the Knights' late charge.

The second game was all Clarkson, as the Knights doubled up Ithaca in the set. Clarkson's defense played well and the Bombers offense was dismal, hitting -.136 (7-13-44). Rachel Reusch also enjoyed a strong run from the service line in the second set, scoring two aces to put the set away quickly.

Ithaca returned the lopsided favor in the third set, reversing the score of the second. The Bombers hit .400 (17-3-35) in the third game in stark contrast to the previous set's performance. Ithaca received kills from six different players, including five from Stone and four from Lipton.

The fourth set was a repeat of the first, with Clarkson edging out to an early five-point advantage after an ace from Kendall Cheval made it 12-7. Just like the first set, however, Ithaca scored eight points in a nine-point stretch to wrestle the lead away from the Knights. Clarkson came back to tie the game at 15-15, but Ithaca got three kills from Stone over the next four points to regain its advantage and the Bombers never led by fewer than two points the rest of the way.

Junior Rachel Reusch scored 14 kills against just one error in 37 attempts to lead the Clarkson offense and Gillian Kurtic added eight kills and a single error in 24 swings. Haley Aud produced a double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs and Kate Isaksen led the defense thanks to 25 digs. Meghan Edmund (13 digs), Kendall Cheval (10 digs) and Grace Mayer (10 digs) also reached double figures on defense.

For Ithaca, Reagan Stone scored 19 kills and Alison Lipton produced 14 kills. Caitlyn Floyd found her teammates for 48 assists and Tara Stilwell notched 33 digs.
