Despite some missteps along the way, the Clarkson University Men's Alpine Ski team was able to take fourth in the slalom at the USCSA Nationals, held at Mt. Bachelor near Bend, Oregon.

The Knights took third in the giant slalom on Wednesday before coming in fourth in the slalom on Friday to close out their USCSA scoring.

Junior Austin Florian had the best time of the day for the Knights, coming in 13th out of 100 skiers with a two-run time of 1:42.50. Classmate Sean Donohue was just a second and a half behind at 1:43.96, good enough for 21st. Another junior, Ian Williams, rounded out the Clarkson scoring time by finishing in 37th place with a time of 1:50.16.

Twenty-four skiers were unable to finish or were disqualified going down the mountain. Sophomore Hayes Lowth, who placed 62nd overall in 2:09.98, nearly joined the group and struggled in his first run down the mountain, but rallied considerably in his second run with a finish that placed him 16th in that trip. Freshman Greg Murray also concluded his two runs with a time of 2:11.33, taking 64th.
