Sophomore Grant Cooper (Cornwall, ONT) scored twice and a pair of Golden Knights tallied their first career goals to highlight Clarkson University's 6-2 non-league win over St. Lawrence at the Thanksgiving Faceoff before 4,333 fans at 1980 Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid on Saturday night.

Winners of three straight, Clarkson improves to 7-4. The Knights return to ECAC Hockey action next weekend, hosting Brown and Yale at Cheel Arena. The Green and Gold then close out play before the exam-holiday break with a home-and-home series against St. Lawrence on December 7-8.

For the 11th straight game the Knights struck first. Senior defenseman Aaron Thow (Toronto, ONT) scored his first of the year, slipping in a shot at the top of the crease at 4:46. Freshman blueline partner Michael Underwood (Bloomfield Hills, MI) and senior Juho Jokiharju (Tampere, Finland) assisted.

The Saints (2-10) came back with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 advantage. Michael Laidley tallied at 6:51 and David Jankowski put St. Lawrence in front at 16:42.

With 35 seconds left in the opening period and just 23 seconds into the first power play of the night, junior Haralds Egle (Liepaja, Latvia) finished off a cross-ice pass down low from classmate Devin Brosseau (St. Lambert, QUE) with a shot from the bottom of the left circle for his fifth goal of the season. Junior defenseman Greg Moro (Edmonton, ALB) also assisted.

Two goals in the final five minutes of the second period, put the Green and Gold on top 4-2 after 40 minutes.

At 15:38, Cooper picked up his fifth goal of the year when the puck took an odd bounce off his stick behind the St. Lawrence net and went up and over the back of Saints' goaltender Emil Zetterquist. Sophomore linemates Jack Jacome (Caledon, ONT) and Kevin Charyszyn (Jamison, PA) picked up the assists.

Less Than three minutes later, John Carter MacLean (Basking Ridge, NJ) knocked in a rebound off of Thow's shot for his first career goal at 18:26. Freshman Adam Tisdale (Cochrane, ALB) also assisted.

Clarkson continued its surge in the final frame with two more goals in the opening four minutes.

Another Golden Knight, freshman Nick Campoli (Toronto, ONT) also scored his first career goal, redirecting a shot from the point by Underwood at 2:21. Tisdale recorded his second assist of the game to start the play.

Cooper knocked in his own rebound in front at 4:10 to make it 6-2. Jacome and junior defenseman Jordan Schneider (Toronto, ONT) assisted.

Clarkson outshot the Saints 42-20. Junior Jake Kielly (Eden Prairie, MN) posted 18 saves for his 45th career victory.

The Knights were 1-of-5 on the power play and killed off all three of St. Lawrence's man-advantage opportunities.
