Utica, NY - Senior Saverino Spagnolo (Ottawa, ONT) made nine saves for his second straight shutout as the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team finished in a 0-0 tie against Utica College in non-league action Tuesdady night.

The Golden Knights moved to 1-6-3 overall, including 1-0-2 in the last three games, while Utica saw its record go to 4-6-1. Clarkson will return to conference action this weekend when it faces RIT at 1:00 pm on Saturday at Hantz Turf Field.

Though Clarkson was out shot 16-6 in the game, the Golden Knights made the most of their opportunities with all six shots going on the Utica frame. Sophomore Alex Vozzella (Boston, MA) had three shots in 60 minutes off the bench, while Brian Buckner (Farmington, NY), James Cowie (Malta, NY), and Marco Parisi (Guilford, CT) each added a shot apiece. Clarkson had its chances in overtime as well, as three of the six shots came in the 20 minutes of extra time.

Spagnolo's nine saves were a season-high, and the most he's recorded since he made 11 stops against Vassar College on September 30, 2011.
