Three late second half goals, all within 11 minutes of each other doomed the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team who fell to RPI 3-0 on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Knights fall to 5-6-1 overall and 0-2-0 in the Liberty League while RPI is now 7-1-2 overall and a perfect 2-0-0 in conference play.

After a scoreless first half, RPI finally broke the tie in the 70th minute when Matt Koziol redirected a Dylan Weitz shot into the back of the Clarkson net. Just under ten minutes later, the Engineers would double their advantage when Matt Carberry volleyed a Nathanial Gunderson cross past Clarkson keeper Michael King (Verona, N.J.). Just a minute later, Steven Collins would collect a loose ball in the Clarkson penalty area and drill it into the net for the final score.

King made three saves for the Golden Knights while Rob Dewald made three saves in net for the Engineers, for his fourth shutout of the year.

The Green and Gold will travel to Schenectady looking for their first conference victory when they play Union at 2:00 pm on Saturday. The Engineers will stay at home to host visiting St. Lawrence, also at 2:00 pm on Saturday.
