A late RIT goal doomed the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team to a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

Clarkson's record now stands at 5-5-1 while RIT is now 3-5-1.

Clarkson started the game off strong and they put their first good chance into the back of the net. Off a free kick, Trevor Blackwell (Pittsford, N.Y.) had a point blank shot saved by RIT keeper Mark Reeves, but the rebound fell to Alex Vozzella (Boston, M.A.) who tapped it in for his first goal of the year.

The score would remain the same until the 52:27 mark. Mike Reverdatto crossed the ball into the box and Reuben Marquez headed it into the back of the net to tie the game.

The Golden Knights had a great chance to take the lead in the 72nd minute. Reeves came out of the RIT net to clear a through ball, but his clearance fell to the feet of Kyle Fisk. Fisk took a shot that looked to be over Reeves head, but the keeper made an acrobatic diving save to keep the game tied.

With just six minutes left, RIT would take the lead. The ball bounced around the Clarkson box until Dean Kouroupis was able to head it down to the foot of Geno Rocco who's shot beat Clarkson keeper Michael King (Verona, N.J.) for the game-winning score.

Clarkson will look to get their first conference win of the year when they travel to RPI for a 4:00 pm game on Friday and then to Union for a 2:00 pm game on Saturday.
