Two goals in each half doomed the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team as they fell to Hobart 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Clarkson is now 7-9-1 overall and 2-5-0 in conference action while the Statesmen are 10-4-2 with a 3-2-2 record in Liberty League play.
Hobart would score two goals in the first half, both of them coming off corner kicks. Just five minutes into the game, Tyler Terens curved his corner kick into the lower corner of the net. 14 minutes later, Terens took another corner kick and after a scramble in the Clarkson box, Kyle Herod was able to steer a shot into the Clarkson goal to give Hobart a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the 54th minute, the ball again got loose in the Clarkson box and this time JP White was there to score the third goal for Hobart. Three minutes later, the Statesmen would add a fourth when Zico Gaeffke hit a shot from the top of the box.
In the 71st minute, the Golden Knights were able to get on the scoreboard when senior James Cowie's (Malta, NY) pass found sophomore Troy White (Malta, NY) and White tapped it in for his first career goal.
