With four games remaining in the regular season, the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team is just a point behind league-leader Harvard in the ECAC Hockey conference. The Golden Knights will host the Princeton Tigers for a 7:00 pm game on Saturday and then will welcome the Quinnipiac Bobcats for a 4:00 pm game on Saturday, both in Cheel Arena.

Guided by seventh-year head coach Matt Desrosiers and first-year assistants Meghan Duggan and Britni Smith, the 8th/9th-ranked Golden Knights currently boast a 19-8-3 record overall and are tied for second with Quinnipiac in ECAC Hockey play, sporting a 13-3-2 league slate.

The game against Quinnipiac will see the Green and Gold honor their five four-year veterans on Senior Day. Clarkson's Class of 2015 has helped the Golden Knights skate to their most successful seasons during their four-year careers. Jenna Boss (Little Canada, MN), Emily Horn (Hamilton, ONT), Christine Lambert (Thetford Mines, QUE), Daniella Matteucci (Fruitvale, BC) and Jennifer Shields (Ingersoll, ONT) have been part of the first class in Clarkson's 12-year history to reach 100-career wins. Entering this weekend, the seniors have skated in three consecutive 20+-win seasons (soon to be a fourth), made three home-ice appearances in the ECAC Hockey playoffs (with a fourth showing coming up in two weeks), claimed an ECAC Hockey Regular Season title, qualified for the NCAA Tournament for two consecutive years and won it all in 2014 with the NCAA National Championship. Clarkson's Class of 2015, along with senior equipment manager Logan Fischer, is once again playing a leading role in another outstanding campaign for Clarkson Women's Hockey.

Lambert, junior Cayley Mercer (Exeter, ONT) and junior assistant captain Olivia Howe (Moose Jaw, SASK) have led the way offensively during the four-game winning streak for Clarkson. Mercer has scored the game-winning goal in three of the four wins and has at least a point in all four games. She now leads the team in goals (19) and points (36) and is tied for the team-lead in assists (17). Her +34 is nearly double the next highest on the team.

After posting just 12 points in the first 25 games of the season, Lambert has nine in the last five games. She is now second on the team in power play scoring with one goal and eight assists during man-advantage opportunities. Howe has eight points in the last four games, including a career-high four against Union.

Junior assistant captains Erin Ambrose (Keswick, ONT) and Renata Fast (Burlington, ONT) along with freshman Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove, IL) have consistently provided offense from the blueline. Fast had an assist against Rensselear and added a goal and assist against Union. Ambrose currently leads the team in in power-play scoring with four goals and seven assists. Her 106 career points are just five behind tying former teammate Brittany Styner '14 for sixth place all-time. Harmon scored the game-winning goal against Union and has 18 points in her rookie season.

Freshman goaltender Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) had a career-high in saves and a shutout last weekend to earn herself the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week award for the fourth time this season. She posted a career-high 42 saves against St. Lawrence, including 18 in the third period, which is also a career-high. She followed this up with 27 saves against Rensselear and 16 against Union for her seventh shutout of the season.

Senior defenders Daniella Matteucci (Fruitvale, BC) and Jennifer Shields (Ingersoll, ONT) both picked up a point against Union. Matteucci scored her second goal of the season against the Dutchwomen, while Shields picked up her sixth assist. The pair are both in the top three on the team in blocked shots with Matteucci blocking a team-leading 61 shots while Shields is in third with 45 blocks of her own.

Princeton comes into the weekend in sixth place in ECAC Hockey, but the Tigers are just three points behind fourth-place Cornell. They are currently riding a three-game winning streak, including wins over fourth-ranked Harvard and ninth-ranked Cornell. The last time Princeton played Clarkson was on November 22, when a third-period goal by junior captain Shannon MacAulay (Mt. Herbert, PEI) helped Clarkson leave New Jersey with a 3-2 win. Clarkson holds an all-time record of 10-12-2 against the Tigers, but has not lost in three games.

Quinnipiac has lost four out of its last six games after starting the season 20-1-3. All four losses came against ranked teams, with the loss against fourth-ranked Harvard and ninth-ranked Cornell coming in overtime. The Bobcats are currently ranked fifth in the nation. They have played Clarkson twice this season, both games coming in November, with Quinnipiac winning 1-0 and 3-1. Clarkson has an all-time record of 18-7-3 against Quinnipiac.
