Rochester, NY - All eight teams took a step back in the scoring department on the second day of the Nazareth Invitational, but the Clarkson University Golf team improved from a tie for third to close out in third all by itself at the Monroe Golf Club.

The Golden Knights placed third out of eight teams with a two-day total of 632, trailing North Country rivals St. Lawrence (611) and Potsdam State (625), but one stroke ahead of Nazareth (633). Monroe Community College (646), Hobart (660), Elmira (669) and Utica (705) comprised the bottom half of the scoring.

Senior Scott Henning finished off his impressive fall with a two-day score of 148, just one stroke off the pace set by medalist Conor Talty of Potsdam State. Henning scored a 71 on the first day as the only golfer under par, and then recorded a 77 on day two, which was in the top eight. Freshman Brad Belote was one of those who was just a few strokes better than Henning on the second day as he scored a 75, two shots better than his previous score of 77 for a two-day total of 152, finishing in a tie for fifth among the 40 participants. Sophomore Anthony Monteleone tied for 15th with a two-day score of 160 (78-82) and freshman Andrew Vadnais rounded out the Clarkson scoring with a total of 172 (84-88). Sophomore Brian Billings shot 190 (96-94).
