Rochester, NY - Led by a diverse offensive attack that saw six different players record 10 kills with at least a .300 hitting percentage on the weekend, the Clarkson University Volleyball team dominated the RIT Invitational with a 4-0 record, including straight sets victories over Keuka (25-14, 25-22, 25-13) and Medaille (25-14, 25-9, 25-12) on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights, ranked 17th in the country in the latest AVCA poll, improved to 11-2 overall with their sixth and seventh straight victories, while Keuka fell to 0-6 and Medaille dropped to 3-11.

Clarkson threw several different lineups out over the weekend, and several players shined, but none were brighter than freshman Rachael Aird (East Syracuse, NY). Over the weekend, Aird hit .735 with 25 kills and no errors in 34 swings, and she was obviously near flawless on Saturday, posting seven kills on nine swings against Keuka. While Aird's .778 hititng percentage against the Storm was the best on the team, her kills total was third, with Victoria Kirkemo (Englewood, CO) leading the way with 11 kills and Aishvina Arasu (Brea, CA) contributing nine kills. Danielle Farabee (Katy, TX) also added in six kills against two errors in eight swings. Kirstie Shurie (LaCanada, CA) continued to use all of her options with 31 assists, while Sierra Rhoades (Poway, CA) and Kristen Orlandini (Fairport, NY) did their damage from the service line with five aces and four aces, respectively. Hannah Jones (Arrowhead, CA) wore the libero jersey and tied with Rhoades for the team lead with eight digs in the match.

Against Medaille, Aird again was a standout with five kills in seven swings in two sets of action, while adding in three block assists, but while her .714 hitting percentage in the match was once again impressive, Adrienne Walker (Centennial, CO) and Lauren Hutchinson (Spring, TX) both nearly swung at a .500 clip with twice as many attacks. Walker and Hutchinson each .467 (8-1-15) and Arasu added in a team-best 10 kills in the match with only one error in 30 attempts. Shurie had a solid all-around match with 32 assists, 3 aces, and 8 digs, and Jones had a team-best 15 digs.
