Potsdam, NY – Less than 20 minutes into the first half the clock was still running after goals as the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team quickly amassed a double-digit margin and cruised to a 20-3 victory over Morrisville State Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

Morrisville State fell to 1-5.

Right from the opening draw Clarkson was in control, not allowing the Mustangs to be on their offensive side of the field for more than a few seconds before the Knights had a 5-0 lead. Kate Dillon scored two minutes into the game and, following two goals from Taylor Collins, Christine Wright's goal at 24:43 proved to be the game-winner. Morrisville tacked on a score at the 19:27 mark, but the Knights responded with six goals in a span of just 4:36 to stretch the lead to 11-1 with less than 11 minutes to play. The scoring pace would slow for the Knights, but the Green and Gold would still tally four more goals in the final seven minutes, including another Wright goal with 10 seconds to go in the half.

A switch of goalkeepers by Morrisville did little to calm the Clarkson offense as the Knights rattled off three more goals in the first nine minutes of the second half. From that point, the Knights truly coasted down the stretch as each team scored twice in the final 18 minutes of running time to conclude the contest.

Wright finished with nine points on four goals and five assists, while Ashley Flick scored six points with five goals and an assist. Flick also recorded game-highs of eight groundballs and four caused turnovers for the Knights. Taylor Collins scored three times and added an assist and Stephanie Lynch also hit the net twice. Casey Shannon, Kate Dillon, Christina Pollard, Taylor Kwiek, Marley Morrill, Abby Gruniesen, and Jaid Baytos also added to the offense for the Knights. Morrill also chipped in with three caused turnovers. In the crease, Samantha Gladd picked up the win by allowing just one goal and making one save in the first half, and Carrie Yurkon performed well in her 30 minutes of relief with three saves and two goals allowed in the second half.

For Morrisville, Jackie O'Sullivan, DeeAnna Rammelt and Courtney Cavellier each scored a goal. Cailin Dunphy was busy in the first half in the Morrisville crease, making 12 saves, while Kallie George stopped four shots in the second half for the Mustangs.

Clarkson out shot Morrisville 41-7, including a 31-2 effort in the first half. The Knights also won 16 of the 24 draws and scooped up 29 groundballs to Morrisville's 10.
