Poughkeepsie, NY - For the fourth straight game, the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team blew its opponent out in the first half with a significant double-digit lead, but none of those were bigger than Saturday when the Golden Knights enjoyed a 24-point halftime advantage and cruised to a 69-38 victory over Vassar College.

The Golden Knights improved to 13-3 overall and 6-1 in the Liberty League and will close out the first half of the conference schedule when the team faces St. Lawrence on Tuesday. Vassar dropped off to 5-11 overall and 1-6 in the conference.

Just 19 seconds into the game, Dylan Hodownes buried a 3-pointer and the Knights never looked back. Clarkson was up 15-2 in less than five minutes and saw that advantage diminished to less than double digits on just a handful of occasions midway through the half. Clarkson was up 22-13 with 11:04 to go, but rattled off 10 straight points in the next five minutes, while Vassar could only come up with two points in a nine-minute stretch. Hodownes buried another 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Green and Gold a 24-point lead (43-19) at the break. A 3-pointer by the Brewers on the first possession of the second half gave the home team some hope, but once again the Knights rattled off 11 straight points for a 32-point advantage. That lead edged out to 34 (59-25, 13:41 remaining), and never dropped below 27 for the rest of the game as Clarkson finished off its second straight lopsided win on the road.

Clarkson shot 18-for-29 in the first half and was 6-for-12 from beyond the 3-point line while enjoying a 17-10 edge in rebounds and committing just a single turnover. The second half didn't quite display such a pretty statline, but the Knights did more than enough to hold their lead.

Felix Abongo finished with a double-double in just 20 minutes of action, scoring a game-high 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with three assists. Dylan Hodownes scored all 11 of his points in the first half, and John Coleman added in 10 points without taking a shot from the field in the second half. Charles McAllister had seven points, five boards, and seven assists. For Vassar, Luka Ladan had nine points and six rebounds.
