Freshman Aishvina Arasu (Brea, CA) had one of the best offensive weeks in recent memory for the Clarkson University Volleyball team over the last seven days, striking for an incredible 67 kills in just 12 sets to help her capture the Liberty League Rookie of the Week honor on October 22nd.

Arasu was virtually unstoppable from the outside for the Golden Knights in four Liberty League matches. Against St. Lawrence on Tuesday she had 17 kills with only three errors in a three-set win and versus RIT she had 20 kills and only two miscues in three sets on Friday. In a pair of home matches on Saturday she nearly equaled the output with 16 kills and two errors against Union and 14 kills with five errors versus Skidmore. For the week, she had 67 kills (5.6 per set) while hitting at a .379 rate and added in 43 digs.

This season, Arasu has been a dominant force on offense and currently leads the conference in kills per set (3.47 kps) while ranking third in total kills (316) with a .270 hitting percentage, which ranks seventh. She has been even more impressive in conference matches, where Clarkson has a record of 10-2 overall. In a conference setting, Arasu has struck for 3.79 kills per set, easily the best figure in the Liberty League, and doing so at a .325 hitting clip which ranks second in the conference.

Clarkson has completed the conference schedule and will finish out the regular season with a home match on Tuesday at Potsdam before traveling to the NYU Tournament where the Golden Knights will take on some of the strongest teams in the region.
