Catherine Kluchinski led St. Lawrence to a 1-2-3 finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Megan Kellogg posted an All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference Championship qualifying time in the 10,000 to lead the Saints' women's track and field team at the Cortland Classic at SUNY Cortland on Saturday.
Kluchinski finished cruised to a win in 12 minutes, 3.48 seconds, with Ashley Leta (12:37.22) and Lindsay Howe (12:58.52) finishing second and third, respectively.
Kellogg qualified for regionals with a time of 38:54.70 in the 10K in her first intercollegiate attempt at the distance. SUNY Geneseo's Genny Corcoran won the race in 37:48.29.
Leah Conners added a second-place finish in the hammer throw, just missing her season-best with a throw of 46.00 meters, and Claire Bartlett was fifth in the 800 for the Saints, breaking the 2:30 mark (2:29.54) for the first time in her career.
Anna Dieffenbach leads a group of three Saints competing in the heptathlon, sitting in seventh place with 2,166 points after the first day of competition. The decathlon and the heptathlon will conclude on Sunday.
