Potsdam, NY – Jessica Kistabish (Pikogan, QUE) scored three goals including the game-winner 1:25 into overtime as the women's hockey team defeated host SUNY Potsdam, 4-3, Saturday afternoon.

The hosts got on the board 12:19 into the first on the power play when Jessica Silveira lit the lamp for the ninth time this season off passes from Amanda Lucky and Alyssa Brockmann. The Roos responded with the skater advantage with just 34 seconds left in the opening frame. Kistabish beat Bear goaltender Abby Tardelli on her team-leading 14th of the season. Dana Morrison (Wemindji, QUE) and Karley Cree (Hogansburg, NY) earned helpers on the play.

SUNY Canton (8-13-3) finished the second period much like the first and took its first lead of the game with 1:02 left in the second. Cree beat the opposing net minder for the 11th time this season as Rhea Coad (Wheatfield, NY) and Kistabish set up the scoring play. SUNY Canton led 2-1 after two.

Potsdam (11-8-3) tied the game at 2-2 when Jordan Ott tallied her team-leading eighth goal of the season at the 12:08 mark. Just 21 seconds later Kistabish buried her second goal of the night off the set up from Coad to regain a one-goal lead.

In a back-and-forth battle the Bears responded once again with just 1:45 left in regulation. Lucky beat Roo goaltender Shayna Dominique (Mistissini, QUE) for her eighth score of the season as the teams headed to overtime.

Just 43 seconds into the overtime the Bears leading scorer Ott was whistled for interference giving the Roos the extra skater. SUNY Canton's power play unit came up huge earning their second goal of the afternoon.

Kistabish beat Tardelli at the 1:25 mark on her 16th goal of the season as she finished off the hat trick and Bears all in one shot. The game-winner is the fifth of the season for the freshman forward. Lora Ardoin (Houston, TX) and Cree assisted the score.

Dominique had another monster game in net turning aside 41 shots on the day. Tardelli made 19 stops for Potsdam. The Roos went 2-for-6 on the power play, while the Bears were 1-for-5 with the extra skater.

The Roos close out their 2013-14 season on Sunday with a rematch against the Bears at 3:00 p.m. at the Roos House.
