Megan Kellogg won the individual title at the 2016 Liberty League Women's Cross Country Championship at William Smith on Saturday, leading the Saints to a second-place finish.
Kellogg, who also won the race in 2015, covered the six-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 6.9 seconds, an average pace of 5:56 per mile, to beat the rest of the 121-runner field by 21 seconds.
Caroline Driscoll finished fourth for the Saints in 23:04.2, while Leah Livernois was eighth in 23:30.3 and was the first rookie to cross the line. The Saints' four through six runners (Carrie Pomainville, Nancy Lucier and Ashley Leta) finished in a tight pack in 17th through 19th place, but Rensselaer placed all five of their scoring runners in the top-10 to claim the team title. The Saints finished with 46 points as a team, 16 points behind Rensselaer.
St. Lawrence will have one final tune-up with the SLU Late Season Twilight on Wednesday before traveling to Rowan for the NCAA Atlantic Regional on Nov. 12.
