Megan Kellogg finished 12th, and five of St. Lawrence University's top-seven runners posted personal record times to lead the 12th-ranked women's cross country team to an 11th-place finish at the Rowan University Border clash on Saturday morning.
Kellogg finished the six-kilometer course in 21 minutes, 10 seconds, an average pace of 5:41 per mile. Amy Regan of Stevens Institute was the individual winner, finishing in 20:17.6.
The race was held on the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional course and attracted a very competitive field. The top-12 teams are all nationally ranked programs, and three of the top-four teams in the country were in the field.
Fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins won the meet with 70 points, with second-ranked MIT second with 134. SUNY Geneseo, which came into the weekend as the top-ranked team in the nation, finished third with 136 points. St. Lawrence, which was competing without senior captain Lisa Grohn, had 339 points, 11 points behind 10th-place Stevens Institute.
Leah Livernois continues to make huge strides in her rookie season, finishing 49th in 22:06.4, which dropped her 6K PR by 22 seconds. Caroline Driscoll chopped six seconds off her PR, crossing the line in 22:22.9, good for a 72nd-place finish. Miabelle Salzano had a 41-second PR, finishing in 110th in 22:48.5, and Marla Davidson was 117th in 22:52.6, good for an 18-second PR. Nancy Lucier broke the 23-minute mark for first time, posting a 40-second PR to finish 128th in 22:57.7. Ashley Leta (129th, 22:58.1) rounded out the Saints' top-seven.
The Saints will take next weekend off, then will compete at the Liberty League Championship in Geneva, N.Y.
