(Canton, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men’s ice hockey team is joining the battle against pediatric cancer when they host the Jules of Life With Roos Hockey Day on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The Roos take on Franklin Pierce University at 3 p.m., and throughout the day there will be Big Wheel Races, raffles, a 50/50 drawing, Chuck A Puck, and bracelet sales, and all the proceeds will go to Jules of Life. The non-profit organization in Ogdensburg, N.Y. assists children with pediatric cancer through inspirational events and financial support. The organization was founded by Carmen and Blake Gendebien and has helped numerous children and their families throughout St. Lawrence County.

There will be five special guests at Saturday’s game, who are currently under the guidance of Jules of Life. They include: Zach Hamilton, Travis Gilbert and Oliver White from Canton, Jacob Marcellus from Norwood, and Kristen Hays from Gouverneur.

Following the game, everyone in attendance will be invited down to the ice to meet the team and have a tour of the Roos locker room.

Admission is $3 to Saturday’s game and children under 12 are free.
