Glenside, PA – Marissa Ixtlahuac recorded 18 kills on the day but the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Rowan University, 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-21) and host Arcadia University 3-0 (i25-13, 25-21, 25-15) on the second day of the Arcadia Tournament on Saturday.

Match 1

The Roos had 12 kills each in the first, second and fourth sets of their match v. Rowan (7-6) including earning a 25-23 win in the opener but the Profs won the final three sets of the match.

Shea Norton paced the offensive effort for the Roos with 15 kills to go with eight digs, while Ixtlahuac added a career-high 11 kills hitting .375 (11-2-24). Jenna Roat recorded 22 digs defensively leading all players, while Peyton Robinson dished out a match-best 33 assists to go with nine digs.

Match 2

The Roos nearly hung even with the Knights in kills trailing just 27-23 but 29 SUNY Canton hitting errors compared to just 13 for Arcadia (11-3) proved costly in the second match.

Jordan Dormady led all Canton hitters with eight kills, while Ixtlahuac added seven. Roat posted 12 digs, while Shea Norton added nine digs and five kills. Robinson set up 20 kills in the Roos (3-10) second match of the day.

Robinson was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts throughout the weekend.

The women's volleyball team returns to the North Country on Friday when it squares off with Cazenovia College and Wells College at 4 and 6 p.m., respectively, at St. Lawrence University to open the Canton Classic.
