Johnson, VT – Marissa Ixtlahuac and Melissa McMaster posted 12 kills each as the SUNY Canton women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep v. Maine Presque Isle in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) on Friday at NVU-Johnson.
This marks the Roos first-ever match in the NAC as the team improves to 1-0 in conference play and 10-11 overall. The Owls fall to 7-15 and 0-1.
The Roos won in convincing fashion earning 25-18, 25-13 and 25-17 victories.
In addition to Ixtlahuac and McMaster's 12 kills each, Skye Hansen also totaled double digit kills with 10. Tatum Lafrance chipped in six kills and nine digs, while Peyton Robinson had an all-around impressive effort with 36 assists and 15 digs. Jenna Roat chipped in 10 digs defensively.
The women's volleyball team continues NAC play on Saturday at Maine Maritime Academy when they face the host Mariners at 10 a.m. followed by a 12 p.m. match v. Husson University.
