Junior captain Dan Hunt snapped a scoreless tie 8:11 into the first overtime session with his third goal of the season to help No. 9 St. Lawrence edge Skidmore 1-0 in Saratoga Springs and clinch the Liberty League regular season title.

The win extends the Saints unbeaten streak to 11 games as they improve to 13-2-1 on the season and 6-0-1 in the Liberty League. After today's game the Saints were tied with Rensselaer with 19 points atop the league standings, but hold the tiebreaker over the Engineers who exhausted their conference schedule on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints applied pressure from the opening kick in the first overtime, dominating possession and building momentum leading up to Hunt's goal. The South Glastonbury, Conn. native settled the ball on the right corner of the box after a clear attempt by the Thoroughbreds and bent an arching shot just under the crossbar into the upper left 90 to win the game.

It was a defensive battle much of the day, but the Saints managed to outshoot Skidmore 16-4 and held a 6-3 advantage in corners.

Senior goalkeeper Aaron Costello, making his first start since early September in front of his hometown crowd, made a huge stop on Skidmore's Adam Beek on a breakaway early in the second half for his only save of the game. Eli Kisselbach finished with three saves for the Thoroughbreds (8-5-3 and 2-3-1).

The Saints wrap up their regular-season schedule with a 1 p.m. Liberty League matchup against Clarkson on Sandy MacAllaster Field on Nov. 1.
